"Climate Change, Health Equity, and Sustainability"
23–24 June 2026
De Montfort University, Dubai, UAE
Prof. Paul Illingworth ( De Montfort University, UK)
The International Conference on Global Public Health in 2026 (GPH2026) is in its 11th year. It has always been, and continues to be, a friendly and supportive conference. It is especially good for new or less experienced presenters, but also experienced alike. The in-person conference also offers an educational tour. The 2026 themes are “Climate Change, Health Equity, and Sustainability”. All central to global public health, and what will be the key drivers for public health in the coming years.
Traditionally, the conference has focused on Asia and Low- and Middle-Income Countries, (LMIC) but also has had speakers from Africa, Australia, Canada, China, India, Nepal, Pakistan, United Kingdom and the USA, amongst others. We welcome speakers from anywhere and in 2026 we are holding the conference in Dubai, one of the countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, in the hope to widen the scope of presenters and share research and expertise more widely.
Our venue, in 2026, is the De Montfort University, Dubai campus, one of three international campuses (others are in Cambodia and Kazakhstan), of De Montfort University (DMU), Leicester, England. DMU has a track record of work relating to the themes of the conference and is ranked 16th best university in the world for recycling and sustainability, plus is a UN Sustainability Hub.
Examples of work undertaken by DMU researchers, making a real difference to people’s lives, include; Katie Laird, Professor of Microbiology, who founded A Germ's Journey, an educational brand for children on infection control and microbiology (www.agermsjourney.com ). This project has global reach and has reached 170 000 individuals across 117 countries. And Professor Parvez Haris who conducted research on arsenic contamination of water and its effects on the food chain, in particular rice, plus how the toxic elements in the soil through foods effect on human health.
We very much hope you will join us in Dubai this coming June.
